So near, Yet so far..

So near, Yet so far..
22 January 2011 at 14:23

The Ole Green Truck

Rattled on up to the  farm

I saw you there,

then you disappeared..

You rode that Bus,

that big ole blue one,

early hours of a school morn

I sat on the same side later in the day...

A step ahead of me, a step behind

always out of sight always in mind

Our paths crossed for but a moment in time

till they buried us, in a pit of lime

That hotel, yes I went there

that was the summer,

we were unaware

thermal pools,

yeah I did those too

what year was that,

oh I'd shot through

Crossed a ditch,

beat that sod

your steps in mine

wherever we trod

though hand in hand,

our lives were not

hadn't happened yet

unravelling the plot

timing

is always the essence of life

when it comes around

brings the heart alive

deadness dies

its own true death

the price of which

challenges the meaning of bereft

I followed you,

you followed me

so near, yet so far

as a rhyme not yet established

we picked up momentum

walked in unison

becoming inseparable!
